The issue this semester will be Interlanguage Phonology. This class will be aimed at students with some previous knowledge of phonetics/phonology. We will examine three main areas within Interlanguage Phonology: (i) the phonology of pidgins and creoles, (ii) loanword phonology and (iii) second language phonology. This seminar-style course will consist of a combination of lectures and discussion of journal articles led by class members.
